Re: This is brilliant. Noble just gets West Ham and what we are about.
I knew his Dad very well. (Haven't seen him for years) and used to have long chats with him when Mark was in the academy. Makes me laugh remembering back to his dads constant moan which was "mate I just can't work out why they are trying to change him from a left winger into the centre, he's got too many tricks to be in the centre. He would be wasted"
Just goes to show that dads know fuck all lol

Noble is a top bloke. I had a weird encounter with him on a Thursday morning in the west stand at Upton Park. I decided to take my Mrs and son to stay there the night before in our last season. That morning the mrs was getting ready in room/box and whilst I walked our 3 year old son up and down the corridor. The place was completely deserted then out the blue Noble appeared and we sort of had a slightly awkward stare off in front of each other, he obviously thought he knew me and I obviously felt as though I knew him. We ended up having a chat and he was messing around with my boy, he then picked him up and knocked on our room door whilst I was out of sight, the Mrs opened it and nearly collapsed.

I wonder how many of us would mug their employer off on social media knowing what nasty, vindictive animals they were?

The Burnley thing was just the impulsive act of a player trying to get on with a game of football to stop us getting relegated. Out of order perhaps but understandable.

A great servant to the club and more than that, a nice bloke.

Re: This is brilliant. Noble just gets West Ham and what we are about.
Back in 2002 I met his older cousin at a University house party (very nice she was too - no link available).

Obviously back then he wasn't known outside of West Ham circles, but through a good mate whose dad was good friends with Roger Cross, I'd been reliably informed that Mark Noble was the best they'd seen since Joe Cole.

I'm not sure how our conversation moved to West Ham, but she said her cousin plays for West Ham and his name was Mark Noble. She was quite surprised but really obviously really happy I'd heard of him at such a young age. "My Uncle lives in Canning Town, Mark is mad for West Ham, he's always had posters all over his walls and never stopped going on about them". That's almost word for word from what she said.

To be honest, I remember it vividly because I thought I was on the verge of cracking the case, but then a visiting mate from Bermondsey over heard and popped his head into our convo saying something along the lines of "hello darling, sounds you need a bit of Millwall up ya". That brought our conversation to an abrupt end, and she left the part around 5 minutes later. My mate thought it was hilarious, and to be honest it was quite early in the evening, and her look of disgust was fairly amusing.

Without having seen the original link, I can 100% confirm that Mark Noble is as West Ham as any one of us on here.

I can also say that in my opinion him taking down the West Ham lad running across the pitch was as far from something a West Ham fan would ever do - compare it to Dicks and the corner flag lad against Everton.

It was disgraceful behaviour and doesn't deserve to be forgiven anytime soon. However he was just doing what he thought was right at the time, so moving forward I don't think we should hold it against him, at least until he is asked about it and gives his version of events.

The board's first line of defence. He really does get what the board is about and is totally on side with it.

I read earlier that Darren Ferguson has been appointed Director of Football of ManU.
I thought Noble could be our new Director of Football.

I would have thoroughly enjoyed this before Soucek & Coufal arrived......now I'm yet to be convinced he'll have any impact in his last year......hope he does though.....

He's one of us alright .I'd be lying to say I've been his greatest fan as a player. But he's whufc through and through which is good enough for me.
